Description

The Cell is a 220cm tall bollard light with a graphite-finished aluminium column and a transparent polycarbonate lantern at the head. The lantern houses a single E27 bulb up to 15W (sold separately) behind a four-sided frame construction that directs light downwards and outwards along pathways, driveways and garden perimeters.

Rated IP54 for outdoor installation, the Cell resists dust ingress and water splashing from any direction, making it suitable for year-round use in UK weather conditions. The 220cm height positions the light source well above typical shrub and planting heights, reducing shadowing and directing light onto surfaces rather than into foliage. The 14.5cm square footprint requires minimal ground clearance for installation and sits cleanly against wall edges, fence lines or pathway borders.

The aluminium column is powder-coated in a dark graphite grey that weathers without flaking or discolouration. The polycarbonate diffuser at the head is impact-resistant and maintains transparency under UV exposure without yellowing. The graphite finish pairs with contemporary garden schemes, charcoal paving and darker facade materials, and sits neutrally alongside black or anthracite external joinery. The E27 fitting accepts standard LED, halogen or filament bulbs, giving flexibility to choose colour temperature and brightness according to the specific pathway or security requirement.

What bulb does it take?

The Cell takes a standard E27 (Edison screw) bulb up to 15W maximum. Bulbs are sold separately. Most installations use a warm-white LED bulb between 6-10W and 2700K-3000K for pathway lighting, or a cool-white 4000K LED for security and driveway applications.

Is it suitable for coastal or exposed sites?

The IP54 rating provides protection against dust and water splashing, which covers typical UK garden conditions. For coastal sites with salt spray or fully exposed hillside locations, regular cleaning of the polycarbonate diffuser will prevent salt build-up. The aluminium construction and powder-coated finish resist corrosion better than steel alternatives.

How is it installed?

The bollard requires a mains 230V AC supply run underground to the installation point. The base fixes to a concrete foundation or hard standing using the mounting plate detailed in the product manual. Installation should be carried out by a qualified electrician and comply with Part P Building Regulations for outdoor electrical work.

Can it be dimmed?

Dimming depends on the bulb chosen. If you fit a dimmable LED bulb and pair it with a compatible outdoor-rated dimmer, the light output can be reduced. The fixture itself does not include dimming electronics.
