Description
The Carabel is a 375mm semi-flush ceiling light built around a drum of pierced metal scrollwork in a brushed champagne finish, backed by an ivory linen inner shade and an etched glass diffuser at the base. Two E27 bulbs (sold separately, up to 60W each) sit inside the drum, casting light through both the pierced metalwork and the bottom diffuser.
Designed for rooms with ceiling heights of 2.4m or lower where a full pendant would hang too low, the Carabel sits 356mm from the ceiling, making it suitable for hallways, entrance halls, bedrooms and smaller dining areas. The semi-flush mounting keeps the fitting close to the ceiling while the pierced scrollwork projects decorative shadow patterns onto walls and ceiling when lit. The brushed champagne finish carries a soft gold-bronze tone that works in both traditional and transitional interiors.
The metal drum is die-cut with a continuous arabesque scroll pattern, creating open sections through which the ivory linen shade is visible. The linen diffuses the direct light from the bulbs, while the etched glass diffuser at the base prevents glare when viewed from below. The combined metal, linen and glass layers give the fitting a depth of 356mm, which positions it halfway between a flush-mount and a pendant. The brushed champagne finish is applied over a metal base and shows a grain texture that catches light at different angles.

Frequently Asked
What bulbs does it take?
The Carabel takes two E27 (Edison screw) bulbs up to 60W each. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with warm-white LED bulbs between 6-10W and 2700K-3000K for ambient lighting in hallways or bedrooms.
What ceiling height does it suit?
The 356mm projection from ceiling to base makes the Carabel ideal for rooms with ceiling heights of 2.4m or lower, where a full pendant would hang too far into the room. It works particularly well in hallways, entrance halls and bedrooms with standard UK ceiling heights.
Does the pierced metalwork cast shadow patterns?
Yes. When lit, the arabesque scrollwork projects decorative shadow patterns onto the ceiling and surrounding walls. The effect varies depending on bulb brightness and room colour — lighter walls and ceilings show more defined patterns.
Is the brushed champagne finish warm or cool-toned?
The brushed champagne finish carries a soft gold-bronze tone with a warm bias. It sits between antique brass and rose gold in the colour spectrum and pairs comfortably with warm-toned interiors, creams, and natural wood furniture.
