The Calm is a 70mm square gypsum downlight with a recessed GU10 fitting and a white matte finish that sits flush with the ceiling once installed. The gypsum body is designed to be over-plastered or painted to match the ceiling surface, making the fitting frame almost invisible when looking up from below.

Designed for kitchens, living rooms, hallways and bedrooms where recessed downlights are needed without visible metal trim rings, the Calm suits modern and minimalist interiors where ceiling fittings are kept discrete. The square aperture provides directional downlight when paired with a GU10 spotlight bulb, or wider diffused light when paired with a GU10 bulb that has a diffuser lens. The dimmable rating allows the fitting to work with most leading-edge and trailing-edge dimmers, giving control over light intensity throughout the day.

The gypsum construction absorbs impact better than metal or plastic downlights during installation and finishing work, reducing the risk of visible dents or scratches. The 70mm body depth requires a ceiling void of at least 80mm to accommodate the fitting and the GU10 bulb. The IP20 rating restricts use to dry indoor areas — bathrooms, shower rooms and outdoor soffits need a higher-rated fitting.

Yes. The white gypsum finish is designed to be over-plastered or painted to match the ceiling. Most builders and decorators skim-coat the fitting edge during ceiling finishing work to blend it completely with the surrounding plasterboard.
