The Bingham is a compact upholstered swivel chair with a rounded, sculptural form wrapped in dusky pink polyester velvet. The chair sits on a circular rotating base that allows 360° movement, so it can be turned to face a conversation area, a TV, a window or a desk without moving the chair itself. The seat depth of approximately 650mm and seat height provide a comfortable upright sitting position for reading, relaxing or occasional desk work.

Designed as an occasional chair for living rooms, bedrooms, home offices and hallways, the Bingham's 820mm width and 760mm depth make it suitable for alcoves, bay windows and corners where a full-size armchair would be too large. The swivel base is particularly useful in open-plan rooms where seating orientation needs to adapt between different activities. The rounded arms and high back provide lateral and lumbar support without the bulk of traditional wingback profiles.

The dusky pink velvet is a muted, mid-tone rose that reads as a warm neutral in natural light and gains depth under evening lighting. The polyester velvet pile has a soft hand and a low-sheen finish that hides minor marks and fabric compression better than high-sheen velvet. The chair is also available in caramel and green velvet, with matching Bingham footstools available in selected colourways.

Does the swivel mechanism lock in place?

The swivel base rotates freely through 360° but does not lock into fixed positions. The rotation is smooth and controlled by the weight of the sitter, so the chair stays facing whichever direction it is left in without continuing to spin.

What floor types is it suitable for?

The circular base distributes the 22.4kg weight evenly, making it suitable for carpet, wood, laminate and tile. On very soft carpet the base may leave minor compression marks over time. Felt pads can be added to the underside if additional floor protection is needed.

Is the velvet hard-wearing?

Polyester velvet is more durable and stain-resistant than natural fibre velvet like cotton or silk. The pile can be brushed gently with a soft clothes brush to restore the nap if it becomes compressed through regular use. Avoid placing the chair in direct sunlight, which can fade the dusky pink tone over time.
