Description

The Basis Rot is a 510mm linear track light with an integrated 24W LED strip, mounted on a swivelling black aluminium connector that clips onto Maytoni's single-phase Unity track system. The LED runs the full length of the housing at 4000K neutral white, diffused through a matte polycarbonate lens along the underside. The connector swivels vertically on its mount, allowing the light bar to be angled from near-parallel with the ceiling to near-perpendicular, directing the beam where it's needed.

Designed for retail, gallery, office and residential spaces where track lighting provides flexibility without fixed ceiling wiring, the Basis Rot works as accent lighting over wall displays, task lighting over kitchen islands or worktops, or as directional fill light in corridors and commercial interiors. The Unity track system allows multiple Basis Rot units to be installed on the same track run, each independently positioned and angled. The 24W output provides approximately 2,000 lumens (dependent on driver efficiency), which is comparable to a traditional 150W halogen equivalent spread across the 510mm length.

The black powder-coated aluminium housing measures 51cm long by 3.3cm wide by 4.6cm tall, with the connector adding another 10-12cm of drop from the track depending on the swivel angle. The matte polycarbonate diffuser softens the LED strip into a continuous line of light rather than visible individual diodes. The IP20 rating limits use to dry indoor environments. The fitting requires the Maytoni Unity single-phase track system (sold separately) and connects via a twist-and-lock connector that slots into the track's electrical channel.

The track is sold separately. The Basis Rot requires the Maytoni Unity single-phase track system, which is available in various lengths. The light clips onto the track via a twist-and-lock connector.

The LED is integrated into the housing and is not user-replaceable. The LED has a rated lifespan of approximately 30,000-50,000 hours depending on usage conditions.

Can it be dimmed?

Dimming capability depends on whether the Unity track system is connected to a compatible LED dimmer. The Basis Rot itself does not contain dimming circuitry — dimming must be controlled at the track power supply. Contact us to confirm dimmer compatibility before purchasing.

What is the beam angle?

The matte polycarbonate diffuser spreads the light across a wide angle, typically 100-120 degrees along the length of the bar. This provides even wash lighting rather than a focused spot.
