Description

The Basis Grid is a 22cm linear LED track light designed for Maytoni's magnetic track system, delivering 12W of 4000K neutral white light through an integrated LED module. The white aluminium housing measures 2.9cm high by 2.6cm wide, with a black honeycomb grid optic visible at the underside that controls light distribution and reduces glare.

Designed for commercial and residential magnetic track installations, the Basis Grid runs on DC 48V low-voltage power supplied through the magnetic track itself. The honeycomb grid directs light downward in a controlled beam, making it suitable for retail display lighting, kitchen worktop illumination, office desk zones, or gallery wall washing where precise beam control and reduced spill light are required. The magnetic attachment allows the fitting to be repositioned along the track without tools.

The aluminium construction keeps the fitting lightweight at under 200g while maintaining rigidity along the 22cm length. The white powder-coated finish pairs with both white and neutral-toned ceilings, and the 4000K colour temperature provides neutral white light that renders colours accurately without the warmth of 3000K or the clinical tone of 5000K. The IP20 rating limits use to dry indoor environments.

The Basis Grid forms part of Maytoni's Radity magnetic track ecosystem, which requires a compatible magnetic track and DC 48V power supply (sold separately). Multiple Basis Grid fittings can be combined on a single track run to build up illumination levels or create linear lighting patterns across ceilings.

What track system does this fit?

The Basis Grid is designed for Maytoni's Radity magnetic track system only. It will not fit standard three-circuit track systems or other magnetic track brands. The fitting attaches magnetically to the track and draws DC 48V power through the magnetic connection.

Is the LED replaceable?

No. The 12W LED module is integrated into the fitting and cannot be replaced. The LED is rated for approximately 30,000-50,000 hours of use, equivalent to 10-15 years of typical commercial operation.

Can the fitting be repositioned once installed?

Yes. The magnetic attachment allows the fitting to be moved along the track without tools. Simply lift the fitting off the track and reposition it at the desired location along the track run.

What is the honeycomb grid for?

The black honeycomb grid optic visible at the underside of the fitting reduces glare by controlling the angle at which light exits the fitting. This makes the Basis Grid more comfortable to view from typical eye level and reduces reflections on glossy surfaces below the light.
