Description

The Basis is a 904mm linear track light with an integrated 30W LED, designed for use with Maytoni's Magnetic Exility track system. The fitting uses DALI (Digital Addressable Lighting Interface) control to adjust both brightness and colour temperature from warm white at 2700K through to cool daylight at 6000K, allowing the light output to be tailored to the time of day or the task at hand. The black aluminium body measures 904mm in length, 23mm wide, and 44mm high, providing a slim profile that sits close to the track.

Designed for commercial, retail and residential spaces where flexible task or accent lighting is needed, the Basis attaches magnetically to the Exility track system and can be repositioned without tools. The linear form delivers directed wash light along walls, across shelving, onto worktops, or down gallery walls. The fixture runs on DC 48V supplied by the track system, which must already be installed and powered. The DALI protocol allows integration into lighting management systems where multiple fixtures are controlled from a single interface.

The black aluminium construction provides thermal management for the 30W LED and gives the fitting a low-key presence that recedes visually against black or dark-toned track. The IP20 rating means the light is suitable for dry indoor environments — offices, retail displays, kitchens, living rooms, corridors — but not bathrooms, wet rooms, or outdoor use. The 5-year warranty from Maytoni covers the LED driver and aluminium housing.

What track system is this compatible with?

The Basis is designed exclusively for the Maytoni Magnetic Exility track system. It will not work with standard 3-circuit track systems or other manufacturers' magnetic tracks. The Exility track must be purchased and installed separately.

How is the colour temperature and dimming controlled?

The Basis uses DALI (Digital Addressable Lighting Interface) protocol for control. This requires a DALI-compatible controller or lighting management system, which allows precise adjustment of both brightness and colour temperature from 2700K to 6000K. It cannot be controlled via standard wall dimmers.

Can the light be repositioned once installed?

Yes. The fitting attaches magnetically to the Exility track and can be slid along the track or removed and repositioned without tools. The track must remain powered off during repositioning for safety.

Is this suitable for bathroom use?

No. The IP20 rating means the fitting is suitable only for dry indoor environments. For bathroom zones, an IP44 or IP65-rated fitting is required by UK wiring regulations.
