Description

The Basis Angle is a 302mm L-shaped corner track light designed to carry LED lighting around 90-degree turns within Maytoni's Magnetic Exility track system. The unit houses a 24W LED strip with adjustable colour temperature from warm white 2700K through to cool daylight 6000K, controllable via Bluetooth Mesh from a smartphone app. The white powder-coated aluminium body forms two 302mm arms meeting at a right angle, with magnetic connection points at each end for linking to straight Exility track sections.

Designed for commercial retail, gallery, office and residential spaces where track lighting needs to follow wall corners or ceiling perimeters, the Basis Angle allows continuous light runs to change direction without visible gaps or breaks in the track line. The Bluetooth Mesh control means multiple corner units and straight track sections can be grouped and adjusted together, setting different zones to different colour temperatures or dimming levels from a single device. The 48V DC operation integrates with Exility system drivers, typically positioned remotely in a ceiling void or service cupboard.

The aluminium construction provides rigidity at the corner joint, preventing sag over time where two straight tracks might flex if simply butted together. The white finish matches the standard Exility track finish, creating a unified appearance across corner and straight sections when installed. The 44mm height and 302mm arm length suit standard ceiling-to-wall junctions in rooms with ceiling heights from 2.4m upwards. The IP20 rating restricts use to dry indoor environments.

The adjustable colour temperature range allows the same track installation to shift from warm accent lighting during evening hours to cooler task lighting during daytime, useful in retail where merchandise presentation changes with natural light levels throughout the day, or in offices where task and ambient lighting needs vary. Does this work with existing track lighting systems?

No. The Basis Angle is designed exclusively for Maytoni's Magnetic Exility track system and will not connect to standard 3-circuit track, Halo, Lithonia or other manufacturer's track systems. It requires the Exility 48V DC driver and magnetic track sections.

How is the colour temperature and dimming controlled?

The unit uses Bluetooth Mesh control via a smartphone app. Once paired, you can adjust colour temperature between 2700K and 6000K and dim the output from the app. Multiple track sections can be grouped into zones for coordinated control.

What driver is needed for this corner track light?

The Basis Angle requires a 48V DC Exility system driver, sold separately. The driver size depends on the total wattage of all track sections in the run — this corner unit contributes 24W to the load calculation.

Can this be installed in a bathroom?

No. The IP20 rating means the unit is not protected against moisture ingress and must be used in dry indoor environments only. It is not suitable for bathrooms, kitchens directly above hobs, or any area where steam or splashing may occur.
