Description

The Basis Angle is a 90° corner-mounted LED track light designed for Maytoni's Magnetic Exility track system, combining two 32.1cm linear sections at a right angle to provide continuous lighting around corners. An integrated 24W LED running at 3000K delivers warm white light along both arms of the L-shaped profile, housed within a white powder-coated aluminium body that measures 4.4cm in height.

The track light mounts magnetically to the Exility DC 48V track system, which powers the fitting without visible cables or external transformers once the track is installed. The 90° configuration suits kitchen worktops that turn a corner, retail display shelving with perpendicular walls, gallery spaces needing continuous lighting across adjacent walls, and office desks positioned in L-shaped arrangements. The IP20 rating restricts use to dry indoor locations only.

The white aluminium finish pairs with white or light-toned ceilings to minimise visual contrast, allowing the light output rather than the fitting itself to define the space. The 3000K colour temperature provides warmer illumination than typical office lighting, sitting between neutral white and the softer tones used in residential settings. The fixed 24W output cannot be dimmed unless paired with a compatible dimming controller on the track power supply.

The Magnetic Exility system uses low-voltage DC 48V rather than mains 230V, meaning the track must be connected to a separate driver unit positioned elsewhere in the installation. Multiple Basis Angle fittings can be added to the same track run, with each fitting drawing power magnetically from the track surface and repositionable along its length without rewiring.

Is this compatible with standard track lighting systems?

No. The Basis Angle is designed specifically for Maytoni's Magnetic Exility track system and operates on DC 48V rather than mains voltage. It will not fit standard single-circuit or three-circuit track systems from other manufacturers.

Can the light output be dimmed?

The fitting itself has a fixed 24W output. Dimming is possible only if the Magnetic Exility track power supply includes a compatible dimming controller. Check the track system specification before expecting dimming capability.

What does the 90° angle refer to?

The fitting forms an L-shape with two 32.1cm arms meeting at a right angle, allowing continuous lighting around internal corners where two walls or surfaces meet at 90°. It is not an adjustable spotlight.

Can this be used in bathrooms or kitchens near water?

The IP20 rating restricts use to dry indoor locations only. It is not suitable for bathroom zones 0, 1 or 2, or kitchen areas where direct water spray is possible. For worktop lighting, install at least 600mm from sinks or hobs where steam and splashes occur.
