Description

The Basic Colors is a 35cm diameter cone pendant light in a soft grey powder-coated metal finish, suspended on a black cable from a matching grey ceiling canopy. The wide conical shade directs light downwards through the open base, which takes a single E27 bulb (sold separately). The 318cm maximum drop is adjustable from 38cm to full length, allowing the pendant to be set high in a kitchen or low over a dining table.

Designed for dining areas, kitchen islands and breakfast bars, the cone shade provides focused downlight over worktops and table surfaces without glare. The 35cm diameter suits table widths of 80-120cm and kitchen island runs of 120-180cm when installed as a single pendant or in a row of two or three. The IP20 rating limits the fitting to dry indoor locations — not suitable for bathrooms or outdoor use.

The grey metal shade has a smooth, matte finish that minimises reflections and sits comfortably in both warm and cool-toned interiors. The powder-coated surface resists fingerprints and minor knocks better than painted finishes. At 40W maximum bulb rating, the fitting pairs with most standard E27 LED bulbs in the 6-12W range, giving control over light temperature and brightness to suit the room.

How low can the pendant hang?

The cable is adjustable from 38cm minimum to 318cm maximum drop. For a dining table the pendant typically hangs 70-80cm above the surface, which works in rooms with ceiling heights of 2.4m or above. The cable is shortened during installation to suit the room.

Can it be used in a bathroom?

No. The IP20 rating means the fitting is only suitable for dry indoor locations. It cannot be installed in bathrooms, wet rooms or outdoor locations.

What diameter table does a 35cm shade suit?

A single 35cm pendant works over tables 80-120cm wide. For longer dining tables or kitchen islands, two or three pendants spaced 80-100cm apart give better light distribution than a single fitting.
