Description

The Aura Large is a 160mm round flush-mounted wall and ceiling light with a white aluminium body and a frosted polycarbonate diffuser. The fitting takes a single GX53 bulb (sold separately) and is rated IP44, making it suitable for bathrooms, covered porches and other areas where occasional water spray or condensation occurs.

Designed for low-ceiling rooms and outdoor covered applications, the flush profile projects just 45mm from the wall or ceiling surface, avoiding head clearance issues in hallways, bathrooms under 2.4m ceiling height, and covered outdoor walkways. The GX53 bulb format uses a twist-and-lock bayonet mount rather than screw threads, speeding bulb changes and providing a more secure fit than Edison screw equivalents.

The white aluminium body resists corrosion in damp environments and the matt finish avoids strong reflections under daylight. The frosted diffuser spreads light evenly across the room rather than creating a single bright spot, making the Aura suitable as general overhead lighting in bathrooms, WCs, utility rooms and entrance porches. Dimmable when paired with a compatible GX53 LED bulb and dimmer switch.

Can this be used in a bathroom?

Yes. The IP44 rating protects against water splashes from any direction, making it suitable for bathroom zones 2 and 3 (outside the immediate shower or bath enclosure). It is not suitable for zone 0 or 1 (inside or directly above a bath or shower).

What bulb does it take?

The fitting takes a single GX53 bulb, which uses a twist-and-lock bayonet mount. GX53 LED bulbs are widely available in warm white (2700K-3000K) and cool white (4000K-6500K) colour temperatures. Bulbs are sold separately.

Is it dimmable?

Dimming depends on the bulb and dimmer switch used. The fitting itself supports dimming, but you must pair it with a dimmable GX53 LED bulb and a compatible LED dimmer switch.

Can it be used outdoors?

The IP44 rating allows outdoor use in covered or sheltered locations such as porches, covered walkways and soffits where the fitting is protected from direct rain. It is not suitable for fully exposed outdoor locations without overhead cover.
