Description

The Arcanta is an LED table lamp with a matt black painted aluminium frame, a circular weighted base and an adjustable arm that pivots at both the base and midpoint. An integrated LED strip runs the length of the arm behind a satin opal polycarbonate diffuser, and the lamp includes a built-in dimmer control on the base allowing brightness adjustment from 10-100%.

Designed for desks, workbenches, bedside tables and study areas where direct task lighting is needed, the Arcanta's dual-pivot arm allows the head to be positioned over a keyboard, notebook or reading material without having to move the base. The 410mm arm projection reaches comfortably across a standard desk depth, and the low 24mm height of the base minimises the footprint. The lamp runs from a standard UK mains plug via a 1850mm PVC cable with an integrated driver.

The LED offers three switchable colour temperatures — 3000K warm white for evening reading, 4000K neutral white for general tasks, and 6000K cool white for detailed work requiring higher contrast. The satin opal diffuser softens the light output and eliminates visible LED hotspots, reducing glare on screens and reflective surfaces. The matt black aluminium finish absorbs rather than reflects ambient light, making the lamp less visually intrusive in dark rooms when switched off.

How is the colour temperature changed?

The lamp includes a control on the base that cycles between 3000K warm white, 4000K neutral white and 6000K cool white. The selected temperature is retained when the lamp is switched off and on again.

Is the dimmer a smooth fade or stepped?

The integrated dimmer provides smooth continuous adjustment from 10% to 100% brightness. There are no preset steps — you control the exact brightness level you need.

Can the arm be locked in position?

The arm pivots use friction joints rather than locks. The joints hold the arm in the set position under normal use but can be adjusted by hand. Over time the friction may reduce slightly, which is normal for this type of mechanism.

What is the IP20 rating suitable for?

IP20 means the lamp is rated for dry indoor use only. It is not suitable for bathrooms, outdoor areas or anywhere moisture is present.
