Description
The Amelia is a 292mm diameter mini pendant combining an opal glass dome with a heritage brass cast metal trim ring and ceiling rose. The dome features an etched prismatic pattern on its lower surface that refracts light into soft, even ambient distribution across 360 degrees. A single E27 bulb (sold separately, up to 60W) sits inside the glass dome, with the metal trim ring holding both the glass fitter and the internal lampholder assembly.
Designed for kitchen islands, dining table task lighting, and entrance hall positions where a compact pendant provides both decorative presence and functional light without overwhelming the space. The adjustable drop runs from 318mm to 998mm on installation, allowing the pendant to hang 600-750mm above a worktop or 700-850mm above a dining table depending on ceiling height. Multiple Amelia pendants can be grouped in rows of two or three over longer islands or breakfast bars, or hung as single accents in alcoves and smaller rooms.
The heritage brass finish on the metal components provides a warm mid-tone that sits between polished and antique brass, with enough patina to avoid glare under daylight but still reflective enough to catch room light in the evenings. The opal glass softens the bulb filament into diffuse illumination rather than creating a sharp point source, making the pendant suitable for positions at or just above eye level. The cast metal trim ring gives the fitting structural weight without adding bulk to the visual profile.
The prismatic etching on the glass dome bottom adds texture and subtle light refraction that reduces direct glare when the pendant is viewed from below while seated. This detail is characteristic of early 20th-century pendant designs but functions well in contemporary interiors where layered lighting and mixed-period fixtures are in use.

Frequently Asked
What bulb does the Amelia take?
The pendant takes a standard E27 (Edison screw) bulb up to 60W. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with a warm-white LED filament bulb between 6-10W and 2700K-3000K to complement the heritage brass finish and opal glass.
Can multiple Amelia pendants be hung in a row?
Yes. Two or three Amelia pendants spaced 600-800mm apart work well over kitchen islands or dining tables. Each pendant needs its own ceiling rose and wiring point, but the adjustable drop allows them to be set at the same height for a uniform visual line.
Is the opal glass replaceable if damaged?
The glass dome is a separate component held by the cast metal trim ring. Contact Hinkley directly or Niori customer service for replacement glass availability. The metal components and electrical assembly remain intact if only the glass needs replacing.
What's the difference between heritage brass and polished brass?
Heritage brass has a warmer, slightly aged tone with less reflectivity than polished brass. It shows subtle patina that minimises fingerprints and sits comfortably in both traditional and contemporary interiors without the high shine of polished finishes.
