Description
The Amas is an 80cm outdoor bollard light built from graphite-finished aluminium with a cylindrical tinted glass shade at the head. A single E27 bulb inside the glass casts light downwards and outwards through the tinted enclosure, providing pathway illumination without glare. The IP54 rating protects against dust ingress and water spray from all directions, making the fitting suitable for garden pathways, driveways, patios and front approaches exposed to UK weather.
At 80cm height, the Amas sits at knee-to-thigh level for most adults, positioning the light source below typical sightlines to reduce visual distraction while still providing sufficient throw for a 1.5-2m pathway width. The slender 8cm diameter profile allows multiple bollards to line a pathway or driveway without visual clutter. The graphite finish is a mid-tone warm grey that blends with natural stone, contemporary gravel landscaping, and dark-stained timber without the stark contrast of matt black or the ageing patina of raw aluminium.
The Amas accepts any standard E27 LED or filament bulb up to 60W, sold separately. Most users pair this with a warm-white LED between 6-10W and 2700K-3000K to provide functional pathway light without over-lighting planting beds or neighbouring properties. The aluminium construction and IP54 sealing withstand frost, rain and UV exposure without requiring seasonal removal, and the graphite finish is powder-coated rather than painted, resisting chips and scratches during typical garden maintenance.

Frequently Asked
What bulb does the Amas take?
The bollard accepts a standard E27 (Edison screw) bulb up to 60W. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users choose a warm-white LED between 6-10W and 2700K-3000K for pathway lighting that does not over-light adjacent planting.
Is the Amas suitable for year-round outdoor use?
Yes. The IP54 rating protects against dust and water spray from all directions, making it suitable for UK gardens, driveways and patios exposed to rain, frost and UV. The powder-coated aluminium resists corrosion and does not require seasonal removal.
How is the bollard installed?
The Amas requires mains voltage wiring (AC 100-240V). Installation involves running armoured cable to the bollard position, typically through underground conduit, and fixing the bollard to a concrete footing or spike mount. A qualified electrician should carry out the wiring and connection.
What spacing is recommended for pathway lighting?
For continuous pathway illumination with warm-white LED bulbs between 6-10W, space bollards 2.5-3.5m apart depending on the path width and desired light level. Wider spacing creates pools of light with darker intervals between; closer spacing provides more even coverage.
