Description
The Knightsbridge Torlan is a 1828mm (6ft) non-corrosive batten fitting housing a single integrated 65W LED module delivering 8,900 lumens at 4000K. The fitting offers three selectable colour temperatures (3000K warm white, 4000K neutral white, 5700K daylight) via an internal DIP switch, allowing installers to set the light colour on site. DALI dimming control provides individual addressable dimming compatible with DALI lighting management systems, and the self-test emergency function maintains 385 lumens for three hours during mains failure.
Designed for commercial and light industrial environments requiring weatherproof and impact-resistant lighting, the Torlan batten carries an IP65 rating protecting against water jets and dust ingress, and an IK08 impact rating withstanding up to 5 joules of force. The grey polycarbonate housing resists corrosion in damp, coastal or chemically active atmospheres, and stainless steel diffuser clips maintain fastening integrity where metal corrosion would otherwise compromise safety. Surface mounting is standard; BESA box and suspension mounting kits are sold separately.
The opal polycarbonate diffuser provides a 150-degree beam spread, distributing light evenly across workshop floors, warehouse aisles, car parks, and loading bays. At 140 lumens per watt, the fitting delivers functional illumination without excessive energy draw, and the 60,000-hour L70B50 rating means 70% of the modules will maintain at least 70% of their initial output after 60,000 hours of operation. The emergency mode is maintained/non-maintained/switched selectable, giving flexibility for building regulation compliance depending on site requirements.
The fitting measures 1828mm long × 90mm wide × 90mm projection. At 65W continuous draw and 230V 50Hz mains voltage, the batten suits both new installations and retrofit projects replacing fluorescent tube battens in environments where corrosion, moisture or impact are concerns.

Frequently Asked
Is the colour temperature adjustable after installation?
Yes. The CCT is selectable between 3000K, 4000K and 5700K via an internal DIP switch. The switch is accessed by removing the diffuser, allowing the colour temperature to be changed on site without rewiring.
What does the DALI control allow?
DALI (Digital Addressable Lighting Interface) allows individual dimming control of each batten when connected to a DALI-compliant lighting management system. Each fitting can be addressed separately, enabling zone control and scene programming in larger installations.
How does the self-test emergency function work?
The self-test emergency module automatically tests the battery and circuitry at regular intervals, recording test results internally. During mains failure, the fitting provides 385 lumens for three hours. The emergency mode is selectable between maintained, non-maintained and switched operation to suit different building regulation requirements.
What mounting options are available?
Surface mounting is standard using the integral mounting points on the batten housing. BESA box mounting kits and suspension mounting kits are sold separately as accessories. See the Specification Sheet in the Downloads tab for accessory part numbers.
