Description

The Knightsbridge Polo is a 330mm white polycarbonate bulkhead fitted with a prismatic diffuser and a high-frequency electronic ballast, supplied with a 2D 38W 4-pin fluorescent lamp at 3500K. The prismatic diffuser breaks up the light from the 2D lamp, reducing glare and spreading the 1495 lumens more evenly across the ceiling or wall plane.

Designed for corridors, stairwells, communal landings, garages and storage areas where broad ambient light is needed without decorative styling, the bulkhead mounts directly onto a ceiling or wall via the base plate. The 110mm projection from the mounting surface and the 330mm diameter suit spaces with ceiling heights of 2.2m or above where the fitting won't be within head-strike range. The high-frequency ballast eliminates the 50Hz flicker associated with older magnetic ballasts, reducing eye strain in areas where the light is on for extended periods.

The white polycarbonate body is impact-resistant and lighter than glass or metal alternatives, making it easier to handle during installation. The 2D lamp sits behind the prismatic polycarbonate diffuser, which is held in place by clips on the base and can be removed for lamp replacement without removing the entire fitting from the wall. Replacement lamps (model 2D38W4P) are widely available from Knightsbridge and other suppliers. The fitting is non-dimmable and draws 38W continuously when switched on.
