Description

The Maytoni Trinity right power input is a 10cm white plastic connector that feeds mains power into a 3-phase track lighting system from the right-hand side. It houses the electrical terminations that connect the building's 220-240V AC supply to the three live rails running inside the track, allowing track-mounted spotlights and pendants to draw power at any point along the rail.

Designed for installation at the start of a track run in residential, retail and office environments, the connector sits flush against the ceiling or wall where the track begins and the cable entry point is positioned. The right-side configuration means the mains cable enters from the right when facing the connector, which determines the direction of the track run and where subsequent connectors, joiners and end caps are placed. The IP20 rating limits use to dry indoor locations.

The white plastic housing measures 10cm in length, 3.2cm wide and 3.3cm high, giving a low-profile finish that sits in line with the track body rather than projecting below the ceiling plane. The connector clips into the track channel using the same mounting system as Maytoni Trinity track lights, so no separate fixings are needed beyond the track itself. The plastic construction keeps the unit lightweight and electrically insulated.

Frequently Asked

What's the difference between left and right power inputs?

The designation refers to which side the mains cable enters when facing the connector. A right power input has the cable entry on the right, which determines the direction of the track run and where you position end caps and joiners.

Is this compatible with all 3-phase track systems?

This connector is designed for Maytoni Trinity 3-phase track. While some 3-phase track systems share similar profiles, rail widths and electrical configurations vary between manufacturers. Use Maytoni Trinity power inputs, joiners and end caps with Maytoni Trinity track to ensure compatibility.

Can this be installed by a homeowner?

No. Connecting mains power to track lighting must be carried out by a qualified electrician in accordance with BS 7671 wiring regulations. The power input connects directly to the building's electrical supply and requires safe isolation, correct cable sizing and secure terminations.

What does the IP20 rating mean for placement?

IP20 means the connector is protected against solid objects larger than 12.5mm but has no protection against moisture. It must be installed in dry indoor locations only — not in bathrooms, kitchens near sinks, or any outdoor or damp environments.
