Description

The Knightsbridge LFC24IPDL is a 30m roll of 24V DC LED strip light with 64 x 2835 SMD LEDs per metre, emitting 6000K daylight white light at 590 lumens per metre. The strip is fully encapsulated in silicone with an IP67 rating, making it waterproof and dust-tight for both indoor and outdoor installation. The 10mm-wide strip sits at 7mm projection from the mounting surface and can be cut to length every 125mm to fit the exact run required.

Designed for task lighting, under-counter runs, stair treads, external canopy lighting, garden features and architectural accent lighting where bright white light and weather resistance are needed, the strip ships on a 30m reel but is rated for a maximum continuous run of 20m before voltage drop becomes noticeable. Runs longer than 20m require a second power injection point mid-run or at the far end. The strip runs on 24V DC constant voltage drivers (sold separately) and is dimmable when paired with compatible dimming control gear.

The 2835 SMD LED configuration gives a 120-degree beam angle, spreading light widely across surfaces rather than creating a focused beam. Each metre consumes 4.8W, so a full 30m reel draws 144W at full brightness, requiring a driver rated at 150W minimum to allow headroom. The strip is supplied with 3M self-adhesive backing tape for direct mounting to clean, dry surfaces, and separate fixing kits (FLEXFIX) and IP-rated end caps (LFCFIX10) are available for more robust installations. The LEDs are rated to L70B50 of 54,000 hours, meaning they retain 70% of their initial brightness after 54,000 hours of continuous operation. CRI is rated above 80, giving good colour rendering for task and accent lighting.

A 24V DC constant voltage driver is required. Each metre draws 4.8W, so a 30m roll at full length would draw 144W. For the maximum 20m run recommended, you need a driver rated at 100W minimum. Add 10-20% headroom for driver longevity, so a 110-120W driver is typical for a 20m run.

Can I cut the strip to fit shorter runs?

Yes. The strip can be cut every 125mm at the marked cut points. Cutting at any other point damages the circuit and voids the warranty. Once cut, each section needs its own power connection to the driver.

Is it genuinely waterproof for outdoor use?

Yes. The IP67 rating means the strip is fully protected against dust ingress and can be submerged in up to 1m of water for 30 minutes without damage. It suits outdoor canopies, garden lighting, pond surrounds and external architectural features. The driver must also carry an appropriate IP rating if installed outdoors.

How is the strip mounted?

The strip is supplied with 3M self-adhesive backing tape, which bonds to clean, dry, non-porous surfaces (painted metal, aluminium extrusions, glass, tile). For more robust fixing or outdoor installations, Knightsbridge's FLEXFIX mounting kit (sold separately) provides mechanical clips. The strip width is 10mm but increases to 12mm with the optional LFCFIX10 IP end caps fitted.
