Description

This 20m CCTV camera cable kit combines BNC video and DC power connectors in a single pre-terminated run for analogue security cameras. The cable features a BNC male connector at each end for the video signal and a separate DC power connector (red and blue coded) at each end, allowing both video and power to be routed in one cable run rather than two separate cables.

Designed for extending existing CCTV installations or connecting new analogue cameras to a DVR or monitor, the 20m length covers installations where the camera position is up to 20m from the power supply or recording device. The cable is suitable for indoor and sheltered outdoor runs where the cable can be protected from direct weather exposure. The BNC connectors are metal with screw-lock collars to prevent accidental disconnection.

The black PVC outer jacket is reasonably flexible for routing through conduit or along wall runs, and the pre-terminated connectors eliminate the need for field crimping or soldering. The DC power conductors are colour-coded red for positive and blue for the BNC shield/ground, with the power connector moulded to prevent shorting. The cable supports standard analogue CCTV resolutions (typically up to 1080p AHD/TVI/CVI depending on camera and DVR compatibility).

Frequently Asked

What type of cameras does this cable work with?

The cable is designed for analogue CCTV cameras using BNC video output and DC power input. This includes traditional analogue cameras as well as AHD, TVI and CVI high-definition analogue formats. It will not work with IP cameras that use Ethernet (RJ45) connections.

Can the cable be used outdoors?

The cable can be used in sheltered outdoor locations where it is protected from direct rain, UV exposure and standing water. For fully exposed outdoor runs, the cable should be routed through conduit or ducting rated for exterior use.

What voltage does the DC power carry?

The cable itself is passive and does not specify a voltage. It carries whatever DC voltage your power supply outputs, typically 12V DC for most analogue CCTV cameras. Confirm your camera's power requirement before connecting.

Can the cable be extended beyond 20m?

Yes, using BNC barrel connectors for the video line and inline DC connectors for the power line. However, extending analogue video beyond 30-40m total may introduce signal degradation depending on the camera resolution and cable quality. For longer runs, consider using a video balun system or switching to IP cameras.
