Description

The Knightsbridge 2.5W under cabinet light is a low-profile LED downlight designed for kitchen worktops, shelving units and display cabinets. The fitting measures 68mm in diameter with an 11mm projection from the surface, requiring a 63mm cut-out for recess mounting. The integrated LED produces 225lm at 4000K, giving a neutral white light suited to task areas where colour accuracy matters.

Dimmable via trailing-edge dimmers only, the light allows brightness adjustment from full output down to around 10% depending on the driver and dimmer pairing. The 2.5m cable length connects back to a constant-current LED driver (sold separately), and multiple units can be wired in series from a single driver to create linked under-cabinet runs. The opal diffuser spreads the light at a 100-degree beam angle, reducing harsh shadows under wall cabinets.

The housing is pressed steel with a white polycarbonate front and diffuser. IP20 rated for dry indoor use only, the fitting is suited to kitchens, home offices, wardrobes and retail display shelving. The Class III rating means the fitting runs on extra-low voltage from a separate driver, not mains voltage. CRI >80 renders colours accurately for food preparation and detailed tasks.

Does this light include a driver?

No. The light requires a separate constant-current LED driver rated for the total wattage of all lights in the circuit. Multiple lights can run from a single driver if the driver's output matches the combined load.

Can I use a standard dimmer switch?

Only trailing-edge dimmers are compatible with this fitting. Leading-edge dimmers will cause flicker or may not dim smoothly. Confirm the driver you pair with the light is also rated for dimming.

What depth of void is needed for installation?

The fitting projects 11mm below the surface and requires a 63mm diameter cut-out. A void depth of at least 20mm above the mounting surface is needed to accommodate the rear of the housing and connections.

Can this be used in bathrooms?

No. The IP20 rating means the fitting is only suitable for dry indoor locations. For bathroom use above washbasins or in zones near water, an IP44 or higher rated fitting is required.
