Description

The Knightsbridge CPL18CT is an 18W circular LED panel with switchable colour temperature control, allowing the light output to be changed between 3000K warm white, 4000K neutral white and 6000K cool white without rewiring. The 217mm diameter panel fits both recessed ceiling cut-outs and surface-mount installation using the same fixture, with integrated driver and opal polycarbonate diffuser.

Designed for domestic and commercial spaces needing flexible ceiling lighting, the dual-mount capability makes the panel suitable for retrofit projects where existing recessed downlight apertures need filling, or for new installations where surface mounting avoids ceiling cutting. The adjustable recessed brackets accommodate apertures from 55mm to 175mm diameter, meaning the panel can replace most standard recessed CFL or fluorescent downlights without redecorating. In surface-mount mode, the 15mm projection gives a low-profile finish on flat ceilings.

The CCT switching can be controlled either from a switch on the luminaire itself or via the wall switch, depending on installation preference. Cycling the mains power toggles between the three colour temperatures, giving 1300lm at 3000K, 1400lm at 4000K, and 1360lm at 6000K. The polycarbonate construction and Class II rating mean no earth connection is required, and the IP20 rating suits dry indoor locations including living rooms, bedrooms, kitchens, offices and retail spaces. Can this replace my existing recessed downlight?

Yes, if the existing aperture is between 55mm and 175mm diameter and there is at least 50mm void depth above the ceiling. The adjustable recessed brackets allow the panel to fit most standard recessed CFL or fluorescent downlight cut-outs without modifying the aperture.

Can it be surface-mounted instead of recessed?
