Description

The Knightsbridge FP1DIMBC is a 1-gang dimmer plate in brushed chrome with a matching metal dimmer cap, built on an 87.5mm square ultra-flat steel frame projecting just 2.5mm from the wall once fitted. The plate is supplied unpopulated, allowing you to fit the dimmer module of your choice in either a centre or offset configuration depending on the module you select.

Designed for residential and light commercial installation, the flat plate suits modern, minimalist and contemporary interiors where visible projection from the wall needs to be kept to a minimum. The brushed chrome finish provides a mid-tone metallic accent that pairs comfortably with stainless steel appliances, chrome taps and handles, and polished or brushed nickel door furniture. The integrated gasket around the plate edge helps keep dust and surface moisture out of the back box.

The premium-grade steel construction provides rigidity and a consistent brushed finish across the faceplate. The matching metal dimmer cap ensures the rotary control blends visually with the plate rather than introducing a contrasting plastic element. The plate carries an earth terminal and an IP20 rating for dry interior use, with a 25-year warranty covering manufacturing defects.

No. The plate is supplied unpopulated. You need to purchase a compatible Knightsbridge dimmer module separately and fit it into the plate. This allows you to choose the correct module for your lamp type (LED, halogen, incandescent) and preferred configuration (centre or offset).

What back box depth is required?

The 2.5mm projection refers to the plate itself. The total depth required depends on the dimmer module you fit into the plate. Most Knightsbridge dimmer modules require a 25mm or 35mm back box — check the module specification before installation.

Can this be used in bathrooms?

The IP20 rating means the plate is suitable for dry interior locations only. It is not rated for use within bathroom zones where water ingress is a risk. For bathrooms, use a switch or dimmer rated IP44 or higher.
