zigga-hanger-brass
Zigga Hanger - Brass

Description

This is a simple brass ring hanger: a round ring hung from a curved hook, made for looping a scarf or a throw through and hanging it up out of the way. It is 100% brass, the wire thin and slightly irregular along its length, with a hammered look to the surface. It measures 12.5cm long and 20.5cm tall and weighs 0.06KG, so it adds very little weight to the peg or knob it hangs from, and the ring is wide enough to take the folds of a soft scarf or a woven throw pulled halfway through.

There are no screw holes and nothing to fix: the hook simply drops over a knob, peg, coat hook or rail you already have, which makes it useful in a rented home or anywhere you would rather not drill. In a hallway it gives scarves their own place beside the coats, so they are not crushed in a drawer or lost in a pile. Hang a few side by side along a row of pegs and each throw or scarf stays separate, easy to see and quick to grab on the way out. It works just as well for a throw kept by the sofa, or any light textile you would rather have on show than tucked away.

The ring hangs from the hook on a small loop, so the two are linked rather than made in one piece, and the hook finishes in a small, neat tip. The brass has a water based lacquer finish, a clear coat over the metal. Brass is a dense, hard-wearing metal, and its colour sits comfortably beside wood, cane, wicker and painted walls. Choose textiles with a little drape: a linen scarf or a fringed cotton throw falls neatly through the ring and leaves the brass hook showing above it, where a stiff, bulky blanket would hide it.

Specification

Width

12.5cm

Height

20.5cm

Material

100% Brass

Colour

Brass

Finish

Water based Lacquer

Weight

0.06KG

Frequently Asked

What is this hanger made of?

It is 100% brass with a water based lacquer finish, and it weighs 0.06KG, so it is very light to hang.

How big is the brass hanger?

It measures 12.5cm long and 20.5cm tall, with a ring wide enough to loop a scarf or a throw through and leave it hanging neatly.

Does it need screwing to the wall?

No. It has no screw holes; its curved hook goes over a knob, peg, coat hook or rail you already have, so there is nothing to drill.

What can I hang on it?

Scarves and throws suit it best: pull one halfway through the ring and it hangs in soft folds, kept separate from everything else on the peg.

Is the ring fixed to the hook?

No. The ring hangs from the hook on a small loop, so the two pieces are linked together rather than made as one solid piece of brass.
