The wall is dimpled all over in a shallow, irregular hammering that ripples the light passing through it. The green is pale, almost clear at the rim, and deepens where the glass thickens, strongest of all in the base. The rim itself is left plain and smooth.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eEach glass holds 500ml, just under a pint, so these are for long drinks: water at a table, or a cocktail built over ice. At 14cm tall they stand a good deal higher than the Yala tumbler, which is 9cm. They are dishwasher safe.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eThe glass is recycled. Waste glass is collected and washed to take out the impurities, then crushed and melted down, blown by hand and hammered with traditional tools, which is where the irregular surface comes from and why no two glasses carry it in the same places.
