A large opal glass ball, slightly flattened at the top and drawn in a little at the bottom so it sits between a sphere and an egg. The glass is warm white and thick, evenly diffusing, so the whole body glows and no lamp shows through as a point. A small brass ring is just visible where the glass meets a plain black flex, with no cap covering the top. The bottom of the ball is left open and unrimmed. The form is large and full and hangs on its own with nothing else on the drop. It measures 26cm across.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eIt suits a table, an island or a hallway, hung low enough to be looked at rather than into. Hang it so the bottom of the shade sits about 80cm above the surface, a little higher if people walk beneath it rather than sit under it.
