A smoked glass egg, drawn in slightly at the top and full at the bottom, cut all over with a fine net of shallow diamonds that runs from the shoulder down to the base. The tint is a soft grey, clear enough to show the lamp inside as a warm core and dark enough to grey what is behind it. The cutting is light, so the glass keeps its smooth outline and the pattern shows as fine bright lines. A flat black cap sits over the top and carries a short black stem and a plain black flex. The bottom of the egg is left open. It measures 25cm across.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eIt suits a table, an island or a hallway, hung low enough to be looked at rather than into.
