woodfire-boxed-glass-scented-candle
Woodfire Boxed Glass Scented Candle

Description

This scented candle is poured into a frosted brown glass vessel that stands on a translucent glass foot, and it arrives in its own printed box. Inside is 285g of a soy and paraffin wax blend around a single cotton wick. The vessel is 9cm across and 10.7cm tall, a size that sits comfortably in one hand and fits a shelf or side table without crowding it. The burn time is given as 50 hours, which makes this a candle to light often rather than one to save for best.

Woodfire is a name made for darker evenings, and the look follows it: the frosted glass softens the flame, so the glow shows through the top of the vessel rather than glaring. We would set it on a living room side table, a mantelpiece, a bedside table or the middle of the dining table when friends come round. It sits happily on a tray beside a vase or a stack of books, and a few lit together along a sideboard make a warm row of light. Because it arrives boxed, it is also a ready present for a housewarming, a birthday or a thank you.

The outside of the glass has a soft frosted, matt finish, while the foot is left translucent so it catches the light at the base, and the rim is smooth and plain. The whole candle weighs 0.45KG, a reassuring heft for a piece this size. Glass is a material that lets candlelight through, which is why the flame reads as a gentle band of warmth near the rim once it has burned down a little. For a warmer look, group it with dried flowers and a brown glass vase on a metal tray; for a quieter one, give it a shelf of its own where the frosted glass can be seen from every side.

Specification

Height

10.7cm

Diameter

9cm

Material

Soy Paraffin, Cotton wick, Glass

Colour

Brown

Weight of wax

285g

Burn time

50 hours

Weight

0.45KG

Safety

Warning: H317 - May cause an allergic skin reaction.
