winnie-the-pooh-piglet-porcelain-cup-and-saucer-pink-and-cream
Winnie the Pooh Piglet Porcelain Cup & Saucer - Pink & Cream

Description

This porcelain cup and saucer brings Piglet from Winnie the Pooh to the tea table, sitting shyly among a meadow of flowers. The cup is glazed cream on the outside with a soft pink interior and a matching pink handle, and it rises from a neat footed base in the shape of a traditional teacup. Around Piglet, blue and pink flowers grow on slender green stems, with a tiny bee drifting past. The pale pink saucer carries the words "It's always better together" in a deeper pink ring around its well, written twice over with small flower motifs between. With the cup in place, the set stands 10cm tall and measures 15cm wide and 15cm deep.

The cup holds 240ml, enough for a proper cup of tea with room for milk, so this is a piece for using rather than keeping behind glass. It suits a slow weekend breakfast, an afternoon cup with a slice of cake, or a quiet moment at the end of the day, and it sits happily on a dresser shelf or a kitchen windowsill between brews. The cream and pink colouring settles easily into a light kitchen or a cottage-style dining room, and the gentle drawing of Piglet keeps the look soft and calm. It brings a little of the Winnie the Pooh stories to any tea tray.

Both pieces are porcelain with a smooth, glossy glaze. The decoration sits on the outside of the cup, so the pink interior stays plain, and the footed base settles into the well of the saucer, framed by its ring of words. As with any decorated porcelain, we suggest washing the cup and saucer by hand in warm soapy water and drying them with a soft cloth to keep the colours fresh. Set it out with a teapot and a plate of biscuits, or wrap it with a favourite loose-leaf tea for a small, thoughtful gift.

Specification

Material

Porcelain

Colour

Pink & Cream

Height

10cm

Width

15cm

Depth

15cm

Weight

0.372kg

Capacity

240ml

Design

Winnie the Pooh

Frequently Asked

How much does the cup hold?

The cup holds 240ml, which is enough for a generous cup of tea or coffee with room left for a splash of milk.

How big is the cup and saucer?

With the cup sitting on its saucer, the set stands 10cm tall and measures 15cm wide and 15cm deep, a classic teacup size that sits neatly on a tray.

What is the cup and saucer made from?

Both pieces are porcelain with a glossy glaze: the cup is cream outside with a pink interior and handle, and the saucer is pale pink.

What words are on the saucer?

The saucer reads "It's always better together" in deeper pink, running twice around the well with small flower motifs between the words.

Which character is on the cup?

The cup shows Piglet from Winnie the Pooh, sitting among blue and pink flowers on green stems, with a little bee flying nearby.

How should I look after it?

As with any decorated porcelain, we suggest washing it by hand in warm soapy water and drying it with a soft cloth to keep the colours bright.
