willy-embossed-stoneware-cups-200ml-set-of-2-multi
Willy Embossed Stoneware Cups 200ml Set of 2 - Multi

Description

These two stoneware cups each carry a raised fish on the side, painted by hand, with the fish's tail standing out from the body like a small handle. One fish is spotted and the other striped, and a wavy painted band runs around each rim, so the pair belongs together without being identical. Each cup is 8cm across and 8.5cm tall and holds 200ml, which makes it a cup for tea or coffee rather than a large mug. Stoneware is a dense, sturdy ceramic that holds heat well, and the multicoloured paintwork gives the table a cheerful lift.

We would set them out at breakfast for a morning coffee for two, or bring them to the kitchen counter for an afternoon cup of tea shared with a friend. The 200ml size suits a latte, a small tea or a warm milk at bedtime. Because there are two, they make an easy gift for a couple, a friend in a first home, or anyone who likes cheerful tableware. The fish motif brings a seaside feel to a cottage kitchen or a holiday let, and the cups look just as good on an open shelf between uses as they do on the table.

The fish is embossed, raised from the surface rather than printed flat, then painted by hand, so you can feel its outline under your fingers. The cups are dishwasher safe, so they can go in the dishwasher with your everyday crockery, and microwave safe, so a drink that has cooled can be warmed in the cup. They are not oven safe, so keep them out of the oven; the maker lists them as food safe. For styling, stand the spotted fish and the striped fish nose to nose on a tray, or turn the tails outward on a shelf so each fin shows at the end of the row.

Specification

Height

8.5cm

Diameter

8cm

Sold as

Set of 2

Material

100% Stoneware

Colour

Multi

Finish

Embossed deco, Handpainted

Capacity

200ml

Dishwasher safe

Yes

Microwave safe

Yes

Oven safe

No

Food safe

Yes

Weight

0.54KG

Frequently Asked

How much does each cup hold?

Each cup holds 200ml, which makes it a cup for tea or coffee rather than a large mug.

Can the cups go in the dishwasher and the microwave?

Yes.
