walton-waffle-check-linen-throw-linen
Walton Waffle Check Linen Throw - Linen

Description

The Walton is a waffle-weave throw built around a soft grid of raised squares, with a fringed trim running along its edges. It measures 130 x 180cm, a single-throw size that sits neatly folded over the arm of a sofa or laid across the foot of a double bed. The waffle structure is what gives it its character: the weave lifts into a regular checked pattern of little pockets, so the surface reads as gentle texture rather than a flat cloth. The version shown here is a pale, warm off-white, the softest of the shades in the range.

This is a layering piece rather than a heavy blanket. Drape it over a reading chair for a cool evening, keep it folded on the end of the bed for an extra layer, or use it to soften a plain sofa. Because the ground colour is so quiet, it settles easily against most schemes, from natural linens and pale timber to warmer terracotta or muted green rooms. The photographed stack shows it made in other colourways too, so it can be matched to a room rather than worked around.

It is made from a blend of 65% polyester and 35% nylon, which is the reason the waffle holds its shape and springs back after use rather than crushing flat. That blend also makes it hard-wearing, a practical point for a throw that gets pulled about, sat on and folded daily. The fringed edge is left loose and relaxed rather than bound, in keeping with the informal look of the weave. If you like the textured, tactile feel of this piece, it works well built up in layers with plainer cushions and blankets so the waffle does the talking.

Specification

Material

65% polyester, 35% nylon

Design

Waffle-weave check, modern

Construction

Waffle weave with fringed trim

Size

130 x 180cm

Frequently Asked

What size is this throw and what will it cover?

It measures 130 x 180cm, a single-throw size suited to folding over a sofa arm or laying across the foot of a double bed for an extra layer.

What is the waffle weave actually like to touch?

The weave lifts into a regular grid of raised squares, so the surface has real texture and small pockets rather than sitting flat like a plain woven cloth.

What is the throw made from?

It is a blend of 65% polyester and 35% nylon, a combination chosen so the waffle structure holds its shape and springs back rather than crushing flat over time.

Will the pale colour work in my room?

The soft off-white ground shown is very quiet, so it settles against most schemes, whether you have natural timber and linen tones or warmer terracotta and green.

Is the fringed edge stitched down?

The fringe is left loose and relaxed along the edges in keeping with the informal waffle look, so it reads as a soft trim rather than a firm bound border.
