vrede-water-glass-14-2cm-amber
Vrede Water Glass 14.2cm - Amber

Description

The Vrede Water Glass is a tumbler with a rim cut at a slant, so one side of the glass stands taller than the other. The body is smooth and gently rounded, narrowing slightly towards a thick, solid base, and the glass carries an amber lustre that is richest near the base and fades to clear as it rises. It stands 14.2cm tall and 8.4cm across, a comfortable size to hold in one hand, and weighs 0.19KG, so it feels substantial without being heavy.

We see it first as an everyday glass for water at the kitchen or dining table, though it suits juice, soft drinks or a long cold drink just as well. The warm amber tint sits happily beside wood, linen, stoneware and natural fibres, and it brings a little colour to a table without competing with your plates. The slanted rim gives the glass a sculptural look even when it is empty, so it also looks at home on an open shelf or a bedside table. It makes a thoughtful gift for someone setting up home, or a simple way to refresh the glasses you reach for every day.

The Vrede is made of glass, with a thick base that gives it a steady footing on the table. Glass does not take on flavours or smells, so water tastes fresh and clean every time you pour. Light passes through the amber lustre, so the colour shifts from honey to clear as the daylight changes. Care is simple: wash it by hand, then dry it straight away with a soft, lint-free cloth to keep the glass bright and free of water marks.

Specification

Material

Glass

Care

Hand wash

Height

14.2cm

Diameter

8.4cm

Weight

0.19KG

Frequently Asked

What size is the Vrede Water Glass?

It stands 14.2cm tall and measures 8.4cm across, a comfortable size for an everyday glass of water or juice.

Can the Vrede Water Glass go in the dishwasher?

The care guidance for this glass is hand wash, so we recommend washing it by hand and drying it with a soft cloth to keep the lustre bright.

Is the whole glass amber?

No, the amber lustre is richest towards the base and fades gently to clear as the glass rises towards the slanted rim.

What shape is the glass?

It is a softly rounded tumbler with a rim cut at a slant, so one side stands taller, and it rests on a thick, solid base.

How heavy is the glass?

It weighs 0.19KG, enough to feel substantial in the hand and steady on the table without being heavy to lift.

What material is the Vrede Water Glass?

It is made of glass, which does not take on flavours or smells, so water tastes fresh and clean every time.
