Fine vertical grooves are cut over the whole pedestal and round the rim of the top, while the upper face is left uncut. The mango is left open grained, and shallow checks run down the pedestal where the block has dried.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eIt stands 45cm high and 55cm across. The weight comes down through the middle rather than at four corners, so nothing catches a foot and the table can be drawn in from whichever side a chair happens to be on. At 11.4kg it is heavy for its size, which is what a solid block of this size weighs, and it stays where it is put.
