It suits a bedroom, a dressing area or a living room. It is not rated for bathroom use, so keep it clear of steam: velvet and humidity are a poor pairing. It hangs in two directions on two hooks with wall plugs. Dust the velvet with a soft brush along the nap rather than against it and keep liquid off it entirely; clean the glass with cleaner sprayed onto a cloth rather than onto the mirror. A velvet frame behaves like upholstery rather than like a moulding: it marks, it holds dust, and it rewards a brush more than a cloth. The same frame is made in an ochre and an olive green.
