A slim antique brass column rising from a shallow round disc base, bending over near the top into a long swan neck that reaches out and finishes in a small shallow oval head. The head is an open shell rather than a closed shade, so the lamp inside shows as a bright line when you look up into it. A short cylindrical collar is set into the stem at about chest height and carries the switch, breaking the brass with a single turned joint. The brass is a warm aged tone throughout, matched on the base, the stem and the head. The base is heavy and low and the whole lamp leans forward over where you sit.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eIt stands beside a chair or at the end of a sofa, where it puts one pool of light exactly where it is needed without lighting the whole space.
