valparaiso-16-light-ceiling-light-gold
Valparaiso 16 Light Ceiling Light - Gold

Description

The Valparaiso is a round flush ceiling light in gold, with tier upon tier of clear, faceted glass drops hanging from a high-shine gold-coloured rim. The tiers narrow as they descend, so the light tapers towards its centre and has the look of a chandelier while sitting close to the ceiling. It measures 78cm across and 38.5cm high. The body is steel and the drops are clear brilliant glass. It takes sixteen E14 bulbs of up to 40W each, and the bulbs are not included, so you choose the ones that suit your space. Rated IP20, it belongs indoors in dry rooms.

We see it above a dining table, at the centre of a living room or in a generous entrance hall, anywhere a flush fitting is wanted but a plain one would feel too modest. It gives the sparkle of a chandelier without a long drop on a chain, which matters in a room where people walk beneath it. With sixteen bulbs shining through all that faceted glass, points of light scatter across the ceiling around it. It suits a buyer who wants one fitting to carry the whole room, rather than several smaller lights. Given the IP20 rating, it is not one for a bathroom or anywhere outdoors.

The steel frame carries a gold-coloured finish, and the glass drops hang in close rings around it. From beneath you can see the bulb holders spread across those rings, so the light comes from many points rather than one central lamp. There is no switch or pull cord on the fitting itself: it is switched at the wall and runs on 220-240V mains at 50/60Hz. As a wired mains light, it is installed by a qualified electrician, and the installation instructions are available to download. It weighs 38.2KG packed, so plan for two people to carry the box.

Specification

Height

38.5cm

Diameter

78cm

Body Material

Steel

Body Colour

Gold-coloured

Shade Material

Brilliant glass

Shade Colour

Clear

Light Source

E14 (bulb not included)

Wattage

Max 16 x 40W

Switch

None (switched at the wall)

IP Rating

IP20

Protection Class

Class I

Voltage

220-240V, 50/60Hz

Weight (packed)

38.2KG

Downloads

Installation Instructions (PDF)

Frequently Asked

Can I fit the Valparaiso in a bathroom?

No. It is rated IP20, which means it belongs indoors in dry rooms, so it is not suited to bathrooms or any outdoor spot.

Which bulbs does it take?

It takes sixteen E14 bulbs, each up to a maximum of 40W.
