valparaiso-1-clear-glass-10-light-linear-pendant-light-chrome
Valparaiso 1 Clear Glass 10 Light Linear Pendant Light - Chrome

Description

The Valparaiso is a linear pendant light built around an oval chrome frame, with tiers of faceted clear glass drops hanging beneath a double chrome band. It measures 90cm long, 30cm wide and 110cm high overall, and hangs from a slim chrome ceiling bar on two chains. The body is steel and the drops are brilliant glass, so the whole piece catches and scatters the light from ten E14 bulbs of up to 40W each, which you choose yourself, since the bulbs are not included. It is rated IP20, which settles where it belongs: indoors, in a dry room.

We think its long, oval shape is made for a dining table or a kitchen island, where a single round pendant would light only the middle and leave the ends darker. At 90cm long and only 30cm wide, it follows the line of the table and spreads the light along its length, while staying narrow enough not to crowd the space around it. It also suits a formal dining room or a generous living room where you want the sparkle of a chandelier in a lower, broader shape. Chrome and clear glass sit comfortably beside grey, white or deep blue walls, and with dark wood or polished stone, so it fits a classic scheme as readily as a modern one.

The frame is steel with a bright chrome finish, and the double band at the top of the shade reflects the glass drops beneath it. There is no switch on the light itself, so you turn it on and off at the wall switch. As a wired-in pendant, it is installed by a qualified electrician, and the installation instructions come as a download. The packed weight is 21.213KG, so plan on a second pair of hands for unpacking and lifting it into place.

Specification

Length

90cm

Width

30cm

Overall Height

110cm

Body Material

Steel

Body Colour

Chrome

Shade Material

Brilliant glass

Shade Colour

Clear

Light Source

E14 (bulb not included)

Wattage

Max 10 x 40W

Switch

None (switched at the wall)

IP Rating

IP20

Protection Class

Class I

Voltage

220-240V, 50/60Hz

Weight (packed)

21.213KG

Downloads

Installation Instructions (PDF)

Frequently Asked

Can I hang the Valparaiso in a bathroom?

No. It is rated IP20, which means indoors and dry only, so it belongs in a dining room, kitchen or living room rather than a bathroom or outdoors.

Which bulbs does the Valparaiso take?

It takes ten E14 bulbs of up to 40W each.
