trosvelle-metal-hurricane-lantern-37-2cm-clear
Trosvelle Metal Hurricane Lantern 37.2cm - Clear

Description

The Trosvelle is a metal hurricane lantern: a rounded, barrel-shaped cage of vertical metal strips in a soft sand-beige, wrapped around a tall cylinder of clear glass. It stands 37.2cm tall and 32.4cm across, a generous size that holds its own on a sideboard, a hearth or the floor beside a chair. The glass chimney shields a candle flame from draughts, while the open gaps between the strips let its warm light through to the room.

We see it as a lantern for the rooms where you wind down: a living room, a dining table set for guests, a bedroom chest of drawers or a wide windowsill. Its neutral colour sits comfortably with pale woods, linen and stone, and it suits pared-back and coastal schemes as readily as a warm, earthy palette. Group it with a second lantern or a few smaller candles on a mantelpiece for an evening display, or let it stand alone on a console table where its rounded outline can be seen across the room. As a piece of home decor, it belongs indoors, where it brings a soft focal point to a quiet corner.

The frame is metal and the chimney is glass, and the lantern weighs 3.02KG, so it has a solid, settled feel when you lift it and sits firmly wherever you set it. The sand-beige colour runs evenly along every strip, and the strips curve inwards at the top and base, so the outline reads as one soft, rounded form. Glass wipes clean with a soft, damp cloth, and a dry cloth run along the metal strips lifts the dust that gathers between them. Choose a candle with room to spare inside the glass, and the lantern will give you a calm, flickering glow on the evenings you want it most.

Specification

Material

Metal, Glass

Height

37.2cm

Diameter

32.4cm

Weight

3.02KG

Frequently Asked

Can the Trosvelle lantern go outdoors?

We keep it indoors.
