travis-striped-resin-wall-mirror-39x38cm-blue
Travis Striped Resin Wall Mirror 39x38cm - Blue

Description

Travis is a wall mirror with no straight lines: its frame has an irregular, softly rounded outline, thick and almost cushioned at the edge, and broad blue stripes wrap right round it. The glass follows suit, an uneven rounded shape set slightly back inside the frame rather than a neat circle. It measures 39cm long, 4cm wide and 38cm tall, so it is close to as wide as it is tall and sized for a small stretch of wall rather than a whole one. It is made from polyresin, glass and MDF, and weighs 1.68KG.

This is not a full-length dressing mirror; we see it as the one for a quick check before leaving the house, hung by the front door, above a console table in the hallway or beside a bedroom window. The stripes give it the presence of a piece of wall art, so it works well among framed prints on a gallery wall, where the glass adds a little reflected light between the pictures. Its uneven shape also softens a run of rectangular frames, which keeps a busy wall from looking rigid. Hung alone on a plain wall, it reads as a picture in its own right.

Polyresin is a cast resin that holds a soft, irregular form well, which suits a frame as rounded and full as this one. The surface has a slightly grainy texture rather than a high shine, and the stripes follow the curves of the frame instead of running ruler-straight. The maker's assembly instructions come as a PDF download, so you can read them before the mirror arrives. For styling, set the blue stripes against a warm wall, such as a deep plum or a soft yellow, where the contrast sharpens the pattern, or keep the wall white and let the stripes carry the colour on their own.

Specification

Width

4cm

Length

39cm

Height

38cm

Material

Polyresin, Glass, MDF

Colour

Blue

Weight

1.68KG

Downloads

Assembly instructions (PDF)

Frequently Asked

What are the mirror's materials?

It is made from polyresin, glass and MDF, and the whole mirror weighs 1.68KG, with the glass set slightly back inside the striped frame.

How big is the mirror?

It measures 39cm long, 4cm wide and 38cm tall, so it is close to as wide as it is tall and suits a hallway or bedroom wall rather than a full-length spot.

Is the mirror glass round?

No. The glass follows an irregular, softly rounded shape set slightly back inside the frame, so it echoes the uneven outline of the striped frame around it.

Do the stripes continue round the edge?

Yes.
