travertine-disc-tea-light-candle-holder-brown
Travertine Disc Tea Light Candle Holder - Brown

Description

This low travertine candle holder is a round disc of soft brown stone, made to hold a single tea light in the cup at its centre. It measures 10cm across and 2.5cm deep, so it sits close to the surface and keeps the candle low. The top slopes softly outward from the cup to a rounded rim, and the stone is marked all over with small natural pits and hollows in warm tan tones, giving it the quiet, textured look travertine is loved for. It is a simple shape, and we think that is the point: the stone does the talking.

At 10cm across it is compact enough for a coffee table, a bookshelf, a bedside table or the end of a mantelpiece, and low enough to sit on a dining table without getting in the way. Its brown tones sit beside natural wood, linen and cream walls. Light a tea light as the evening draws in and the glow picks out the texture of the stone around the cup; by day, unlit, it sits happily as a small piece of natural stone on a shelf. It also makes a thoughtful gift for anyone who likes a calm, candlelit corner at home.

The holder sits on a narrower base beneath the disc, so it rests freely on any flat, level surface with nothing to fix or hang. To care for it, dust with a soft dry cloth or wipe with a slightly damp cloth and let it dry; harsh or acidic cleaners are best avoided, as they can mark natural stone. If wax spills, let it harden before lifting it away gently. As with any candle, never leave a burning tea light unattended, and keep it clear of anything that could catch. Set it where daylight falls across the stone so its texture shows, or wrap it in tissue for a small, considered present.

Specification

Colour

Brown

Diameter

10cm

Depth

2.5cm

Weight

0.274kg

Frequently Asked

How big is this tea light holder?

It measures 10cm across and 2.5cm deep, a low, compact disc that fits neatly on a shelf, a side table or a mantelpiece.

What is it made of?

It is made from travertine, a stone with a soft brown colour and small natural pits and hollows across its surface.

What kind of candle does it take?

The cup at its centre is made for a single tea light, which sits down inside the stone with the rim sloping away around it.

Does it need fixing or hanging?

No, it is freestanding and rests on a narrower base beneath the disc, so it simply sits on any flat, level surface.

How should I clean it?

Dust it with a soft dry cloth or wipe it with a slightly damp cloth, avoiding harsh or acidic cleaners, and let any spilt wax harden before lifting it away.

Would it make a good gift?

We think so: its warm brown stone and simple round shape make it a thoughtful, practical present for anyone who enjoys candlelight at home.
