tipper-wooden-framed-print-green
Tipper Wooden Framed Print - Green

Description

This framed print shows two green ferns, one feathery and branching, the other a single long frond that trails in a gentle curve, set on a speckled, aged-looking background inside a weathered wooden frame. A small caption sits beneath each fern in the manner of an old botanical plate, so the piece has the quiet feel of a page lifted from a well-thumbed field guide. It is 46cm tall and 34.5cm across, and only 2.5cm from front to back, so it sits close to the wall rather than standing proud of it. It weighs 1.63KG, a figure worth having to hand when you choose a wall fixing.

Its upright shape makes it a good fit for the narrower spaces a room offers: beside a doorway, at the turn of a staircase, above a slim console in the hallway or between two windows. We like it in a bedroom or a study, where the green leaves bring a little of the garden indoors. It works on its own, and it is just as at home in a gallery wall of mixed wooden frames, where the weathered wood ties it to older pieces. Anyone who keeps houseplants, collects old botanical prints or loves a cottage look will understand it straight away, and it makes a thoughtful gift for a keen gardener.

The maker lists fir wood, iron, MDF and glass in its construction. The frame has an honest, rough-grained finish, with weathering marks and worn patches that make it look as though it has hung in a farmhouse for years, and the speckling across the background gathers most heavily towards the edges, like the foxing on an old book. For a relaxed arrangement, hang it at eye level and set a real fern or a trailing plant on a shelf or table beneath it, so the printed leaves and the living ones talk to each other.

Specification

Width

2.5cm

Length

34.5cm

Height

46cm

Material

Firwood, Iron, MDF, Glass

Colour

Green

Weight

1.63KG

Frequently Asked

How big is the framed print?

It is 46cm tall and 34.5cm across, and only 2.5cm from front to back, so it sits close to the wall and suits narrower stretches of wall.

Which materials does the maker list?

The maker lists fir wood, iron, MDF and glass.
