thorne-stoneware-candle-holder-18-5cm-blue
Thorne Stoneware Candle Holder 18.5cm - Blue

Description

Thorne is a blue stoneware candle holder built from a stack of rounded ridges, five soft rings rising from a broad, flared foot to a plain cylindrical neck that takes a single taper candle. It stands 18.5cm tall and 11cm across at its widest, which puts it at a comfortable height for a table or shelf, tall enough to lift the flame without towering over the room. Stoneware is a dense, hard ceramic, and at 0.41KG this holder has a reassuring weight in the hand. We like how the ridges give a simple form real character.

Put it on a mantelpiece, a sideboard or the middle of a dining table, where the ridged profile catches the candlelight. A single holder gives a quiet point of colour on a bedside table or a windowsill, while two or three grouped along a console table make a fuller arrangement for winter evenings and dinner parties. The blue sits happily in rooms with warm pinks, terracotta or natural wood, and it looks just as good against a plain white wall. It also makes a thoughtful gift for anyone who likes a candle on the table at the end of the day.

The body is 100% stoneware under a smooth matt glaze, so the surface has a soft, velvety look rather than a high shine, and the ridges stay crisp from foot to neck. The flared foot gives it a wide footprint, and the narrow socket at the top keeps the candle upright. The styling props shown are not included, so you will need a candle of your own. For the neatest look, choose a tall, slim dinner candle and let the ridges do the work; a white taper keeps the attention on the blue, and a pair of holders at either end of a mantelpiece frames the space between them.

Specification

Height

18.5cm

Diameter

11cm

Material

100% Stoneware

Colour

Blue

Finish

Smooth matt glaze

Weight

0.41KG

Frequently Asked

What material is the candle holder?

It is made from 100% stoneware, a dense and hard ceramic, finished all over with a smooth matt glaze.

How big is the candle holder?

It stands 18.5cm tall and measures 11cm across, and it weighs 0.41KG, so it suits a mantelpiece, sideboard or dining table.

How many candles does it hold?

It holds one slim taper or dinner candle in the narrow neck at the top, standing upright above the stacked ridges of the body.

Is the glaze shiny or matt?

The glaze is a smooth matt finish, so the blue surface has a soft, even look rather than a high gloss.

Is a candle included?

No. You receive the candle holder alone; the candle and the other styling props shown are not included, so choose a slim taper of your own.
