Between the cups the wire is bound at intervals with a finer wire and hung with clusters of small mango wood beads in a deep red, five or six to a cluster, each set on a short stem so it stands off the ring like a berry. A few plain brass spheres sit among them. The cups are plain open cylinders and take dinner candles.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eThe ring lies flat and the candles stand up out of it, so it works down the middle of a laid table rather than off to one side. At 33cm across it sits in the centre of a table without reaching the place settings, and it is low enough at 6cm that people can see across it once the candles are lit. Each bead is cut on its own and each cluster is wired on by hand, so no two rings carry the berries in quite the same places. Candles are not included.
