tanea-glass-tealight-holder-beige
Tanea Glass Tealight Holder - Beige

Description

Tanea is a tall glass tealight holder wrapped in woven grass, standing 24.5cm tall and 13.5cm across. A glass cylinder sits inside a loose lattice of beige grass strands that cross on the diagonal, held in place by twisted bands at the rim, at the base and at intervals up the sides. The weave is open, so the glass shows between the strands and candlelight passes through the gaps in a soft criss-cross. This is a substantial piece rather than a small votive: it weighs 0.94KG and has a reassuring solidity in the hand.

Its height earns it a place where a short holder would disappear: a mantelpiece, a deep windowsill, a hallway console or the middle of a dining table. A few together along a sideboard make a warm, low-lit cluster for a dinner party, while one on its own gives a bookshelf or a bedside table a gentle glow through the evening. The natural grass and beige tone sit comfortably beside linen, oak, rattan and stoneware, so it suits a relaxed, pared-back living room as readily as a cottage kitchen or a summer table laid for friends.

There is nothing complicated in its making: a glass cylinder and a woven grass wrap, nothing more. The maker lists it as not dishwasher safe, not microwave safe and not oven safe, so clean it by hand and keep it clear of all three. Grass is a natural fibre, and natural fibres vary a little in shade and texture, which gives each wrap its own character. As a practical styling note, stand it on a tray or a wooden board with one or two shorter holders beside it, so the woven grass becomes the tallest point of the group and the light builds in layers.

Specification

Height

24.5cm

Diameter

13.5cm

Material

Glass, Grass

Colour

Beige

Dishwasher safe

No

Microwave safe

No

Oven safe

No

Weight

0.94KG

Frequently Asked

What is the Tanea holder made of?

It is made of glass and grass: a glass cylinder wrapped in an open lattice of woven grass, finished with twisted grass bands at the rim and the base.

How big is it?

It measures 13.5cm across and 24.5cm tall, a generous height that suits a mantelpiece, a sideboard or the centre of a dining table.

Can it go in the dishwasher?

No. The maker lists it as not dishwasher safe, and it is not microwave safe or oven safe either, so clean it by hand.

Which candle does it take?

It is sold as a tealight holder, so a tealight is the intended candle, and the open grass weave lets its light through between the strands.

How heavy is it?

It weighs 0.94KG, which gives it a solid, settled feel for a holder made from glass and woven grass.

What colour is the weave?

The woven grass is beige, a soft natural tone that sits easily beside linen, oak and rattan, with the glass showing through the open lattice.
