tamba-iron-mango-wood-wall-shelf-with-hooks-rust
Tamba Iron & Mango Wood Wall Shelf with Hooks - Rust

Description

A wall hung rack built as a shallow box of woven iron wire, 61cm across, 56cm tall and 17cm deep, with two mango wood shelves set across it and a row of six hooks hanging below. The wire is a hand-woven grid of roughly two centimetre squares and it is not machine regular: the strands bow a little and the squares vary in size, which is what gives the mesh its texture. The iron carries a matt rust finish and the boards are left pale, with the grain running the length of each one.

It hangs flat against the wall and stands 17cm off it, so the shelves take a row of jars, tins or mugs but not a deep bowl. The bays are open at the front and meshed at the back and the sides, so nothing slides off behind. Six hooks run along the bottom rail, and they take mugs and kitchen utensils. It weighs 3.46kg empty, so the fixings carry that plus whatever goes on it.

The frame is iron and the shelves are mango, a timber that comes out of fruit orchards once the trees have stopped cropping rather than from a plantation grown for wood. The rust finish is matt rather than glossy and sits unevenly across the wire, going darker where the strands cross one another. The Tamba range also holds a plain wall hung shelf without the hooks.

Specification

Height

56cm

Width

61cm

Depth

17cm

Material

Iron & Mango Wood

Colour

Brown

Finish

Rust

Wall Hung

Yes

Weight

3.46kg

Frequently Asked

How many hooks are there?

Six, in a row along the bottom rail.

How far does it stand off the wall?

17cm.
