The brass border is narrow, so almost the whole face is glass.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eThe frame is made to work either way up, hung or turned through ninety degrees. At 0.5cm deep it sits almost flat against the wall and throws very little shadow. The glass is what holds the picture, so what goes in is seen edge to edge rather than sitting inside a mount.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eThe glass is set in brass. Each frame is soldered by hand, which is why the weld marks on the joins differ from one to the next and the brass reads darker in the corners where the solder has run. That variation is left rather than polished out.
