swirl-pattern-whale-glass-figurine-with-raised-tail-green
Swirl Pattern Whale Glass Figurine with Raised Tail - Green

Description

This glass whale figurine sits low on its rounded belly with its tail raised high behind it, as if about to dive. The body is a rich green, swirled through with bands of lighter turquoise and deep navy that wrap from the head back towards the tail, and tiny bubbles and fine flecks of sparkle are caught in the glass. Towards the tips the tail turns to clear glass, so the light passes through it, and a small dark eye sits low on each side of the head. It stands 10.3cm high, 15.4cm deep and 6cm wide, small enough for a narrow shelf.

We like it best where daylight can reach it. On a windowsill or a sunny mantelpiece the green and turquoise glow and the clear tail brightens, while on a bookcase or in a glass-fronted cabinet it adds a cheerful splash of colour among books and china. It is just as at home on a desk in a study, on a bedside table or on a bathroom shelf with a seaside theme, and it brings a touch of the sea to any room. As a gift it is easy to wrap and needs no setting up: it simply sits where it is put.

The figurine is made of glass with a smooth, glossy surface and a flat base, so it sits steady on any level surface without a stand. Because it is glass, treat it gently and place it where it will not be knocked. To keep it gleaming, dust it with a soft dry cloth, or wipe it with a damp cloth and dry it straight away to avoid water marks. For an easy seaside display, set it beside a few shells, a piece of driftwood or a stack of blue-spined books, or give it a shelf of its own where the light can fall through the tail.

Specification

Material

Glass

Colour

Green

Height

10.3cm

Width

6cm

Depth

15.4cm

Weight

0.634kg

Frequently Asked

How big is the glass whale figurine?

It stands 10.3cm high, measures 15.4cm deep and is 6cm wide, so it fits easily on a narrow shelf, windowsill or desk.

What colour is the whale?

The body is a rich green swirled with lighter turquoise and deep navy bands, and the tail turns to clear glass towards the tips.

What is the figurine made from?

It is made of glass, with a smooth, glossy surface and tiny bubbles and flecks of sparkle caught inside the glass.

Does the whale figurine need a stand?

No, it sits on its own rounded belly on any flat, level surface, so it needs no stand or fixing of any kind.

How should I clean the glass whale?

Dust it with a soft dry cloth, or wipe it gently with a damp cloth and dry it straight away to avoid water marks.

Where does the whale figurine look best?

We like it where daylight can reach it, such as a windowsill or mantelpiece, because the light shows off the swirls and the clear tail.
