A wide, very shallow opal glass dome sitting tight against the ceiling, its face broad and softly domed and turning down at the outer edge. Bands of warm grey-brown marbling sweep across the glass in broad sweeps, so no two faces are alike. A small brushed metal boss finishes the dead centre of the face. The glass is thick and evenly diffusing, so no lamp shows through it. It is very wide and low and there is no fixing visible from below. It measures 31cm across and 4.5cm tall, in glass and metal.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eMounted flush it clears a doorway and a low ceiling, so a corridor, a landing or a small bedroom is its territory, and it lights the whole room evenly rather than pooling on one surface.
