spitfire-aluminium-model-ornament-with-stand-14in-silver
Spitfire Aluminium Model Ornament with Stand 14in - Silver

Description

This shiny aluminium Spitfire model ornament sits on its own curved stand, holding the aircraft clear of the surface as if it were in flight. It takes the shape of the Spitfire, with long elliptical wings, a slim fuselage, a raised cockpit canopy and a rounded tail fin that make it recognisable at a glance. A propeller sits at the nose, fine panel lines run across the wings and tail, and slim gun details point forward from the front edge of each wing. The whole piece is finished in bright silver with a high shine, so it catches the light from every side. At 14 inches it is a generous model that holds its own wherever it stands.

It is at home in a study or home office, where it gives a desk or bookcase a point of interest, and it looks just as good on a mantelpiece, a sideboard or a living room shelf. Because the stand lifts the model, the wings are seen in full from the front and the sides, so it works well on a surface you walk past every day. We think it makes a thoughtful new home gift, a characterful first piece for a new study or a fresh run of shelves.

The model is made from aluminium and stands on a flat rectangular base, so it needs no wall, hooks or fixings: simply set it down on any steady, level surface. The shiny silver finish is easy to look after. Dust it with a soft dry cloth, and for marks wipe it gently with a slightly damp cloth and dry it straight away; we would avoid abrasive pads and harsh cleaners, which can dull a bright metal surface. For a smart arrangement, place it beside a stack of books or a desk lamp, or let it stand alone on a clear shelf where its outline can be seen.

Specification

Material

Aluminium

Colour

Silver

Finish

Shiny

Weight

1.208kg

Design

spitfire 14

Occasion

New Home

Frequently Asked

What is this Spitfire model made from?

It is made from aluminium with a shiny silver finish, giving the whole model a bright metal look from the propeller to the tail.

How big is the Spitfire model?

It is a 14-inch model, a generous size that sits comfortably on a desk, bookcase, sideboard or mantelpiece without crowding it.

Does the model need fixing to a wall?

No. The aircraft sits on its own curved stand with a flat base, so it stands freely on any steady, level surface.

How should I clean the aluminium model?

Dust it with a soft dry cloth and, for marks, wipe it gently with a slightly damp cloth, then dry it; avoid abrasive pads and harsh cleaners.

Is it a good gift for a new home?

We think so.
