solar-wall-light-black
Solar Wall Light - Black

Description

This solar wall light is a neat black cube, 10cm long and 10cm high, standing 10cm out from the wall, so it reads as a crisp, simple block rather than a fussy fitting. The body is black plastic and the front carries a clear plastic shade, behind which sits an integrated LED that throws its light downward in a soft wash across the surface beneath the cube. Power comes from the sun: it runs at 3.2V DC from one Li-ion battery rated at 600mAh, charged by its panel.

It belongs on a wall that catches plenty of daylight. The panel charges from daylight, and as general guidance it does best in an open, sunny spot, clear of heavy shade. Because it draws its power from the sun rather than the mains, there is no plug and no mains supply to arrange, which makes it a good choice for anyone who wants a small accent of light where running power would be awkward. The downward wash picks out the grain or texture of the wall beneath it and gives a gentle glow to a corner that would otherwise sit in darkness.

Both the body and the shade are plastic, which keeps the whole light down to 0.26KG and easy to lift into position. Four screws sit at the corners of the front plate around the clear shade, a small, tidy detail that suits the clean lines of the black finish. An on/off switch puts you in charge, so you can keep it dark during the weeks you would rather it stayed unlit. The installation instructions come as a download, so you can read them through before you choose its spot on the wall.

Specification

Body Material

Plastic

Body Colour

Black

Shade Material

Plastic

Shade Colour

Clear

Light Source

LED, integrated

Length

10cm

Height

10cm

Projection

10cm

Weight

0.26KG

Battery Count

1

Operating Voltage

3.2V DC

Switch

On/off switch

Battery

Li-ion, 600mAh

Downloads

Installation Instructions (PDF)

Frequently Asked

How big is this solar wall light?

It is a cube 10cm long and 10cm high, and it stands 10cm out from the wall, so it suits a small or narrow stretch of wall.

How does the light charge?

The panel charges from daylight.
