solar-string-lights-4-3m-white
Solar String Lights 4.3m - White

Description

These solar string lights carry ten white ribbed round lanterns along a black cable, powered by a round black solar panel that stands on a spike. The string is 430cm long and the lanterns are 7cm in diameter, small enough to read as a row of soft dots of light rather than a bright line. Each lantern holds an integrated solar LED of 0.06W, and because the LEDs are not replaceable, the string is a complete piece with no bulbs to buy. We do not have an IP rating for this string, so we cannot say how it copes with rain or splashing water, and until one is confirmed we suggest keeping it dry.

These lights suit anyone who wants a gentle glow with no plug and no socket nearby. The panel charges from daylight, and as general guidance it does best in an open, sunny spot. The run time is given as 6 to 8 hours, which comfortably covers a long evening. With a 430cm string, you can loop the lanterns in a soft curve or run them in a straight line, and the low 0.06W per LED keeps the light soft and low-key rather than glaring. Because each lantern is only 7cm in diameter, a single string gives a fine, even line of light that never crowds the space around it.

The body is black plastic, so the panel, spike and cable sit back quietly while the white lanterns take the eye. An on/off switch puts you in charge of when the lanterns glow, and the string runs on an AA NiMH battery of 300mAh. At a packed weight of 0.226KG, it is light enough to move whenever you fancy a change of scene. The installation instructions come as a download, and we suggest a quick read before you set the panel and spike in place.

Specification

Length

430cm

Diameter

7cm

Body Material

Plastic

Body Colour

Black

Shade Material

Rice paper

Shade Colour

White

Light Source

Solar LED, integrated

Wattage

10 x 0.06W

Features

LED not replaceable

Switch

On/off switch

Run Time

6–8 hours

Battery

AA, NiMH, 300mAh

Protection Class

Class III

Recess Depth

10.5cm

Weight (packed)

0.226KG

Downloads

Installation Instructions (PDF)

Frequently Asked

How long is the string of lights?

The string is 430cm long and carries ten white ribbed lanterns, each 7cm in diameter, on a black cable.

How long do the lights stay lit?

The run time is given as 6 to 8 hours, and the solar panel charges from daylight, doing best in an open, sunny spot.

Which battery does the string use?

The string runs on an AA NiMH battery of 300mAh, and the solar panel charges it from daylight.

Can the LEDs be replaced?

No, the LEDs are integrated and not replaceable, so there are no bulbs to buy and nothing to change over time.

Do the lights have a switch?

Yes, there is an on/off switch, so you decide when the lanterns glow and when they rest.

What colour are the lanterns and the cable?

The lanterns are white and ribbed, while the body, including the solar panel, spike and cable, is black plastic.
